Shaku Maku was born in 2022 with the intention to bring authentic Middle Eastern flavours to the heart of Dublin.

In the heart of Rathmines, welcome to Shaku Maku, where every dish tells a story and every bite is rooted in family. Roughly translated, it means: ‘What’s the story?’ or even ’What is everything and nothing…?’
It all began with my grandmother’s humble recipes from the south of Palestine, passed down through generations. Inspired by my wife’s Lebanese roots in the verdant Beka’a Valley, we infused our menu with the vibrant flavours of Lebanon, celebrating small plates and vegetarian options. My time in Yemen taught me the art of rice, while Greece became the unexpected crossroads where Middle Eastern and Western cuisines converged.
I’m grateful for the journey that has led us here, one of passion and dedication to bringing Middle Eastern food to Ireland. Shaku Maku is a celebration of food, culture, and the timeless joy of sharing a meal.
